so...i'm reading in the news lately that there are people who are (admitting to be) *addicted* to facebook.
seriously?
really?
these are people who admit they have greater responsibilities, i.e. Children, Families, Jobs, etc. yet "can't help themselves" from spending hours upon end on facebook every day, neglecting before-mentioned responsibilities, pining over past relationships once they *friend* a long-lost acquaintance, be them friendships or romantic interludes, that are OVER and in the past.
really? let's not worry about the economy. or raising decent children as caring, responsible human beings who will someday decide our future and whether or not we will wear diapers in a public facility or be carefully coddled in the privacy of a family home. or about REAL addictions like kiddie porn, or gambling, or anything else REAL. c'mon, people. this is just our scared generation trying to make up for the fact that the Internet hasn't existed our ENTIRE life and we feel slighted at the fact that technology is moving faster than we can keep up with. we're trying to make up for lost time, and we're just looking like jackasses in the process.
*news flash* = get over it. get outside. read a book. go on a picnic. take a hike. play with your kids, for god's sake - why did you have them if you're just going to stick them in front of the tv? that's cruel to do even to your pets.
get off the internet. there are hundreds of Law & Order episodes that go unwatched every day b/c of people addicted to the internet rather than Cable TV, which is apparently not the *in thing* anymore. turn off your computer and turn on your TV already. sheesh.
